Print, Copy and Scan

HPL now offers wireless printing, in addition to our current printing, photocopying, and scanning services at all branches. Check your account balance. Funds can be loaded online or in person, and prints can be paid in the branch by cash, debit, or credit card.

Add Funds to Your Library Card

Members can now pay library fees or add funds to their Library account online using SmartPay, HPL’s secure online payment system.

  • SmartPay accepts credit card payments only.
  • Only full balance payments can be made online.
  • For the best experience, use Microsoft Edge or Firefox.

Printing from a Public Computer

  • Letter (8.5 x 11) and legal (8.5 x 14) paper sizes are available for printing.
  • Colour and black and white printing is available at all branches.
  • Members can print 4 free pages in black and white per day.

Wireless Printing: Print on the GoPrint on the go logo, phone and printer clipart.

  • Wireless printing is available at all HPL branches. See the list of acceptable formats.
  • Print wirelessly from your device, either at the branch or from home.
  • First time logging in or changed your PIN? Contact Staff through ASKHPL@hpl.ca or visit your local branch.
  • Simply use the Print on the Go portal to upload your document. 
  • Visit any branch (bring your card) to release your job.  Please allow sufficient time before the branch close. Print jobs expire after 72 hours.

  • Members can print 4 black and white prints per day or 2 colour prints per day for free. Your free daily prints appear as a dollar amount credited to your account balance. This credited amount expires daily.
    You will be charged for prints above this amount.
  • Follow these instructions to help you upload and retrieve your print job(s).

Photocopying

Scanning

  • Scanning is free and available at all HPL branches.
  • You can use the photocopiers to scan documents and send them to your USB drive or Email.
  • Suitable scans can be saved as PDF and JPG.

Lamination

Since March 13, 2023, self-serve lamination is available at Central Library (2nd floor), and the Dundas, Red Hill, Terryberry, Turner Park, Valley Park and Waterdown Branches. There is a $1.00 cost for an 8.5x11 lamination pouch. (Please note, the lamination of vaccine certificates is no longer free.)

Specialized Print Services

HPL’s Makerspaces offer 3D printing, scanning, large-format printing, label-making, etc. Book your Makerspace appointment today.

Pricing:

0.10/ page for black and white 
0.20/ page for colour

Library Members receive $0.40 in free printing credit each day, which can be used for black-and-white or colour printing and photocopying. This credit resets daily and does not carry over.
